Sixers sign Ivey to multiyear contract

PHILADELPHIA -- Guard Royal Ivey signed a multiyear contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.

Ivey has averaged 4 points, 1.5 assists, 1.3 rebounds and 14.3 minutes in 263 games over four seasons in the NBA. A second-round pick by Atlanta in 2004, Ivey played three seasons with the Hawks and one in Milwaukee.

The 6-foot-4 Ivey has started 109 games and shot 42.1 percent from the floor, including 33.1 percent from 3-point range.

Ivey played in 75 games with 20 starts last season, averaging career highs of 5.6 points, 2.1 assists, 1.6 rebounds and 19.2 minutes per game.

The 76ers signed two-time All-Star forward Elton Brand earlier this summer.
