Pistons C Robinson suspended one game

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The NBA on Tuesday suspended Detroit Pistons center Clifford Robinson one game for pleading guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol.

Robinson will miss Wednesday's home game against the Washington Wizards.

A starter, Robinson is second on the club in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game to go along with 4.8 rebounds.

Detroit has won six of its last seven games, tying the Milwaukee Bucks for first place in the Central Division.

"This is a tough situation for Cliff and our team, but we must adhere to league rules," Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars said. "It's even more unfortunate because of how well the team has been playing in recent games."
