Bulls activate G Greg Anthony

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Veteran point guard Greg Anthony, who has missed the last 14 games with a partial tear of his right Achilles tendon, was activated by the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.

Acquired by the Bulls from Portland before the start of the season, Anthony averaged 8.5 points and a team-high 5.7 assists in 35 games before suffering his injury in a January 17 contest at Atlanta.

In his 11th NBA season, Anthony has reached double figures in 14 games, but is shooting just 39 percent. He scored a season-high 19 points and had 11 assists in a December 14 game against Boston.

Anthony will likely split time at point guard with newly acquired Travis Best, who came to Chicago along with swingman Jalen Rose Tuesday in a seven-player trade with the Indiana Pacers.

Rookie guard Norman Richardson, who was also involved in that deal, was placed on the injured list with a left ankle sprain to make room on the roster for Anthony. Richardson appeared in just three games with the Pacers.
