Houston Rockets rookie Sam Dekker will have back surgery Friday, multiple sources told ESPN.
Dekker, who was taken with the 18th pick in June's NBA draft, had played sparingly so far this season. One source said Dekker was bothered by the back injury his senior year at Wisconsin.
Dekker is expected to be out approximately three months, one source told ESPN.
Dekker has played just six minutes this season and hasn't played since the second game, a 112-92 loss to Golden State on Oct. 30.
