Heat expect to be without Goran Dragic for a week

Miami Heat guard Goran Dragic will miss about a week after an MRI on Thursday revealed a mild left calf strain, the team said.

Dragic had been sent home from the team's road trip Wednesday. He said he believes he suffered the injury during Miami's loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday but was uncertain exactly when the strain occurred.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said initial tests performed Tuesday in Los Angeles, where the team had the day off, confirmed there was no tear in the calf.

Before his injury, Dragic had scored in double digits in eight straight games, including 22 last Friday against the Phoenix Suns, his former team, in a 103-95 win.

Dragic is averaging 12.3 points and 5.0 assists this season.
