Suns' Tyson Chandler suffers strained right shoulder vs. Rockets

Phoenix Suns center Tyson Chandler left Friday's game against the Houston Rockets with a strained right shoulder. The Suns later announced he was out for the game, which Houston won 116-100.

Chandler was injured going for a loose ball with 6:32 to play in the second quarter. He grabbed his right shoulder and winced before heading to the Suns' locker room.

He played eight minutes, and finished with two points and three rebounds.

A 14-year veteran, Chandler, 33, missed eight games earlier this season with a hamstring injury he suffered against the Golden State Warriors on Nov. 27. He is averaging 5.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
