Kristaps Porzingis started the game after sitting out the Knicks' loss in Washington on Tuesday due to illness. According to Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek, Porzingis was throwing up before the Wizards game.
Porzingis had 19 points and 12 rebounds on Wednesday night, rallying the Knicks to victory over their crosstown rivals.
Rose has not played since injuring his ankle against Charlotte last Friday. The point guard shed the protective boot he had been wearing on his left ankle on Wednesday.
"It feels all right," Rose said before the game. "No running yet."
Rose said he hopes to begin running Thursday and Friday. The Knicks play the Cavaliers at home on Saturday.
"I'm going to try to go next game," Rose said. "Every day it's improving. It's a process. I'm not rushing it. I'm getting a lot of treatment and resting it every day."
