Phoenix police have closed their case into sexual abuse allegations against former University of Arizona and NBA player Mike Bibby.
Sgt. Vince Lewis told the Arizona Republic on Thursday that an investigation "did not reveal probable cause to recommend charges against anyone in the case."
In February, Bibby was fired from his coaching position at Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix after school district officials received a copy of a restraining order a teacher had brought against him.
The teacher had accused Bibby of forcing her into his car and inappropriately touching her in February 2017.
Bibby's attorney, Don Harris, told the Arizona Republic that the claim against Bibby had been "like a bomb bursting in his head." Harris said Bibby has received interest as a coaching candidate from "several universities."
Bibby played at Shadow Mountain, winning a state championship. He also won a national title at Arizona before going on to a 14-year NBA career, primarily with the Vancouver Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks.
