MIAMI -- Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and center Chris Bosh will not play against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night, but forward LeBron James will give it a go.
Wade is suffering from a sore right knee and is expected to make the trip to Washington on Wednesday for the second game of a back-to-back against the Wizards. However, Bosh, who is sick with flu-like symptoms, will not make the trip to Washington "unless he gets dramatically better," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said before Tuesday's game.
"It is something we talked about," Spoelstra said. "I don't know if we will bring him around everybody."
Bosh had been considered a game-time decision after the morning's shootaround.
After the back-to-back set, the Heat will host the Boston Celtics on Friday and the Chicago Bulls on Sunday. Spoelstra says Wade is making progress, but there's no indication whether he will play this week.
"He had a good workout yesterday, so he is making progress," Spoelstra said. "His knee is feeling better and we will see how he feels [Wednesday]."
James had missed three games because of a sore right hamstring, but he returned to the court on Saturday and scored 27 points in the Heat's win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Tuesday will be Wade's fifth consecutive game in street clothes.
On Tuesday, the Heat will try to tie a franchise record for most wins in a regular season, with 61. They'll need to do it without Bosh and Wade against the Bucks, who are slated to play the Heat in the first-round of the playoffs. The Bucks trail the Celtics by 2½ games for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with six games remaining.
