Cornell rolls, will meet No. 1 New Hampshire

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Krzysztof Wieckowski and Sam Paolini scored in the first 3½ minutes as Cornell beat Quinnipiac 6-1 on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA East Regional.

Fourth-seeded Cornell (25-7-2) will face top-seeded New Hampshire (29-6-3) in the quarterfinals Sunday.

Maine, a 4-3 overtime winner over Harvard on Saturday, will face Boston University in the other regional quarterfinal.

Matt Underhill made 14 saves, and Doug Murray, Kelly Hughes, Ryan Vesce and Stephen Baby added goals for Cornell.

Ryan Morton scored for Quinnipiac (20-13-5), making its first NCAA appearance after winning the MAAC tournament.
