COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Southern California freshman Prakash Amritraj beat Adam Carey 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-3 to give the 11th-seeded Trojans a 4-3 upset of No. 2 seed Tennessee in the semifinals of the NCAA men's tennis championship Monday night.
The Trojans will play defending national champion Georgia in Tuesday's final. The Bulldogs escaped a singles rally by UCLA for a 4-2 victory in the other semifinal.
USC's Daniel Langre tied it at 3-3 by winning a tie break in the final set against Mark Dietrich 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (2). Tennessee won the doubles point, but Southern Cal came back to win four singles matches.
Adam Seri clinched the match for Georgia with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Erfan Djahagiri.
UCLA was a point away from tying the match at 3-3 with Rodrigo Grilli up 5-3 and on serve, but the Bruins never got the chance as Djahagiri's return of Seri's triple match-point serve landed out of bounds.
