CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) _ Kyle Hill scored a career-high 40 points Tuesday night as Eastern Illinois beat Morehead State 102-80 in the first round of the Ohio Valley postseason tournament.

The Panthers (19-9) will play Murray State in the semifinals Friday in Nashville. Murray State beat Tennessee State 114-100 Tuesday.

Hill was 11-of-15 from the field and 14-of-15 from the foul line. Hill got help from Henry Domercant with 22 points and Matt Britton added 16.

The Panthers, who won all 13 home games, built a 45-37 halftime lead and widened the margin to 70-54 midway through the second half. The Eagles (12-16) cut the deficit to 87-77, but the Panthers responded with a 15-3 spurt at the end.

For Eagles, Andrew Keating had 18 points. Ikler Lopez added 13 points and a team-high six rebounds.

Henry Domercant, is the nation's No. 3 scorer with 22.9 average, and Kyle Hill is No. 5 at 22.4. Eastern is the 16th best scoring team among Div. I schools.

Eastern beat the Eagles twice during the regular season, by 14 points at home just last week.
