Saturday Louisville at Ohio State (ESPN, 2 ET): The Buckeyes have three losses ... to Duke, Pittsburgh and Alabama. That should tell you something about their strength of schedule. Louisville is still searching for a marquee road win (sorry, Seton Hall doesn't qualify). Missouri at Iowa (ESPN, 4 ET): Suddenly, Iowa is a real threat in the Big Ten. Missouri needs a lift after losing to Illinois.
Touchstone Energy All-College Classic (ESPN2, 6:30 p.m.) North Carolina at Miami, Fla. (ESPN2, 7 ET): The Tar Heels were gracious enough to open up the Hurricanes' new arena. We'll see if Miami has the personnel to be rude hosts and beat the Tar Heels. Seton Hall at St. John's: The Big East renewed the rivalry. Too bad not too many people care this season. Xavier at Alabama: The brutal week for the Tide and Musketeers continues with what should be a dandy down in Tuscaloosa. David West and Erwin Dudley will draw plenty of scouts. Wake Forest at Richmond: This is a dangerous game for the Demon Deacons. Richmond is a sleeper pick in the A-10 but needs a breakout game. This could be it. Kentucky vs. Ohio (Cincinnati): The Bobcats are the host state school. But don't fool yourself. This is Kentucky's city for a day. Rice at Fresno State: Rice is a legit contender in the WAC. Fresno State could be hurting if it loses Thursday to Tulsa. Penn at Colorado: The Quakers continue their post-exams trip out West where the Buffaloes are no longer a pushover. Arizona State at Oregon: The Ducks could be in for a letdown after the Arizona game. ASU might be able to steal one on Saturday. UCLA at Washington State: The Bruins have never looked so ripe for the Cougars. Stanford at Cal: The Bears are desperate for a statement game. This would certainly qualify.
Sunday LSU at Georgia: The Tigers don't catch a break with the beginning of the SEC. Trying to win at Georgia this season will be one of the conference's toughest spots. Virginia at N.C. State: The Cavs are looking more like contenders than pretenders of late, but must steal a road win or two against a team like N.C. State. Duke at Clemson: The undefeated Tigers are waiting for their shot against Duke. This isn't the toughest game for the Blue Devils, but it will be the first true road game of the season. |
