Paul is one of the most versatile big men in the Class of 2002 as he can score equally well from the perimeter or in the post. According to All Star Sports analyst Bob Gibbons, who rated Paul as the No. 1 prospect in this year's class, he "is the most fundamentally skilled, the most complete all-around player, and the best big man in the Class of 2002." As a junior, Paul earned All-Oakland County honors and All-Conference honors. He has a variety of ways to score from the post yet he can step back for the 18-footer. As a result, he made the 2001 Big Time All-Tournament team and was selected for the Associated Press 2001 Class A All-State team. He is also a 2001 USA Men's Youth Development Gold Medal Winner and one of 10 finalists for the Naismith Award on April 5. Off the court, he participates in the Winners Circle, a program where he travels to schools to talk about drug and alcohol prevention. Paul was also the Michigan Punt, Pass, Kick champion at age 10. He has signed with Michigan State University for the fall semester.
