In December of 2000, Raymond helped put Latta on the basketball map when he helped his team knock off legendary DeMatha in the Beach Ball Classic. Almost 18 months later, everyone in the basketball world knows about the talented point guard. He was named as the player of the year in South Carolina by USA Today after his junior year - one of only six underclassmen in the country to receive that honor in their respective state. As a result, he earned an invitation to the USA Basketball Olympic Festival this past summer. He is the all-time scorer in South Carolina history with over 2,700 points, which helped him become a finalist for the Naismith Award on April 5. He will join McDonald's All Americans Rashad McCants and Sean May at North Carolina next year.
