As one of the premier big men in the class of 2003, David has averaged a double-double each season in his high school career and has earned All-State honors three times. Padgett was a member of the USA Basketball Olympic Festival last summer where he was first in blocks per game (3.0) and field goal percentage (63.4). This year David earned MVP honors at the prestigious Slam Dunk to the Beach Tournament to go along with his three time Northern Nevada "AAAA" Basketball MVP honors. Padgett led his Reno team in scoring, rebounding and blocks for the past four seasons. David will join Roy Williams at Kansas next season. Coach William's said, "We really felt like we needed a high-quality post player. He can run like crazy for a big guy. He's got good hands, he's got good touch and he rebounds." Padgett could see major playing time next season with the departure of senior Nick Collison.
