RALEIGH, N.C. -- North Carolina State's leading scorer Anthony Grundy was arrested and charged with assaulting a woman
near the campus.
Grundy was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday, hours after police
responded to a call. He was released about three hours later.
Makazi Mtingwa called police about 6:45 p.m. Friday and told
them Grundy assaulted her. Police said the two know each other.
Assistant athletic director Annabelle Vaughan, reached at her
home Saturday, said she did not know about the arrest.
The status of Grundy, who averages 17 points per game, was uncertain for N.C. State's game against
North Carolina on Sunday.
