The College of Charleston will name Virginia assistant Tom Herrion to replace longtime coach John Kresse at an 11 a.m. ET news conference Tuesday, sources told ESPN.com.
Herrion, 34, was Pete Gillen's top assistant at Virginia and at Providence. He's considered one of the top recruiting assistants and one of the harder working assistants. The energetic Herrion is the brother of Bill Herrion, who is the head coach at East Carolina.
The College of Charleston also interviewed East Tennessee State's Ed DeChellis, Maryland assistant Dave Dickerson and Ohio State's Paul Biancardi. Herrion's departure opens up a major assistant's opening at a high-profile ACC school. Andy Katz is a senior writer for ESPN.com. |
