TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona added to its already outstanding high school recruiting class on Thursday when a New Mexico prep sharpshooter signed a letter-of-intent to play for the Wildcats. Chris Dunn, a 6-foot-7, 180-pound forward from Hobbs, N.M., averaged 17 points, 12.3 rebounds and four blocked shots per game as a senior. He shot 59.8 percent from the field, 52.1 percent from 3-point range.
"In our view, Chris Dunn is the sleeper recruit in the country," said Arizona associate head coach coach Jim Rosoborough, Dunn's chief recruiter.
Dunn is the fourth player to sign national letters of intent for the Wildcats, who will return all of its players from a team that won the Pac-10 tournament and advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
Guards Hassan Adams of Westchester High School in California and Chris Rodgers of Wilson High in Portland, Ore., were the first to be signed with the Wildcats. Arizona added forward Andre Iguodala of Springfield, Ill., last Saturday after he was released from his commitment to Arkansas because of the dismissal of coach Nolan Richardson.
Coach Lute Olson said Dunn "is a great complement to the kids we've already signed in terms of size, versatility and athletic ability." |
