LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech men's basketball coach Bob Knight may soon have a new career on his hands.

Knight is scheduled to appear alongside Oscar winner Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler in the upcoming movie "Anger Management,'' according to a report in Sunday's editions of The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

The film, scheduled for June 2003 release, is about a mild-mannered businessman, played by Sandler, who is accidentally sent to an anger management help group. The group is instructed by Nicholson's overly aggressive character.

Randy Farley, sports information director for Texas Tech's men's basketball program, told The Associated Press on Sunday that he couldn't comment on the report. He said Knight was out of town and unavailable for comment.

Other sports personalities known for their tempers are scheduled to make cameos in the film, including John McEnroe.

"Anger Management'' is scheduled for a $56 million budget and will be directed by Peter Segal, whose previous credits include "Tommy Boy'' and "Nutty Professor II.''
