Kanaskie says he wants to spend time with family

Associated Press

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kurt Kanaskie resigned as men's basketball coach at Drake on Friday after seven seasons.

Kanaskie had a 62-136 record at Drake, and his .313 winning percentage is the worst among the school's 16 full-time head coaches since the 1917-18 season.

The Bulldogs finished 10-20 overall and 9-9 in the Missouri Valley Conference last season.

Kanaskie, who also served as head coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Lock Haven University, said he was resigning to spend more time with his family.
