BOULDER, Colo. (AP) _ Craig Ochs became the first player in Colorado history to run for a touchdown, throw for a touchdown and catch a TD pass in the same game Saturday as the Buffaloes beat Oklahoma State 37-21.

Ochs, who took over as Colorado's starting quarterback three weeks ago, finished with four TDs and also set the school's single-season freshman passing record previously held by Koy Detmer.

Ochs had two long touchdown runs and caught a 29-yard TD pass from wideout Javon Green in the first half. He capped his historic day with an 8-yard scoring pass to Roman Hollowell with 9:48 left in the game.

John Minardi also had a big day with a career-high nine receptions for 153 yards as Colorado (2-6, 2-3 Big 12) handed Oklahoma State (2-5, 0-4) its fifth straight loss.

The Cowboys have not won in Boulder since 1988 and have dropped nine of 10 to Colorado, which won its first home game of the year.

Ochs missed three plays in the first half after getting hit in the abdomen, but his stats didn't reflect any sign of injury. He was 21-of-32 for 336 yards and had 93 yards on 11 carries. His TD catch gave him 458 total yards.

Colorado raced out to a 21-0 lead in the first half, and the Cowboys could get no closer than 30-21 after Aso Pogi's 8-yard scoring pass to Khary Jackson on the first play of the fourth quarter.

Ochs put the game out of reach five minutes later when he connected with Hollowell. Ochs immediately ran to the sideline and jumped into the arms of his coaches and teammates.

He had plenty of reasons to celebrate as he ran his season passing total to 1,098 yards in five games. Detmer threw for 962 yards in seven games as a freshman in 1992.

Ochs did most of his damage in the first half, throwing for 242 yards and rushing for 71.

He had a 22-yard touchdown run on the game's opening drive and caught his touchdown pass after throwing a lateral to Green on the final play of the first quarter.

With Ochs sidelined briefly late in the second quarter, Zac Colvin threw a 22-yard scoring pass to Green to give the Buffs a 21-0 lead with 3:32 left before halftime.

Oklahoma State got its only touchdown of the half on a 16-yard pass from Pogi to Jamaal Fobbs 1:29 later.

The score came after the 25-second play clock had expired, but no flag was thrown. Colorado cornerback Roderick Sneed also dropped a potential interception on the previous play.

Pogi, making his second career start, completed 30 of 49 passes for 313 yards.

Ochs returned on the next series and completed two passes for 38 yards before scoring on a 33-yard scramble down the right sideline to make it 27-7. The Buffs got the ball back one more time, and Ochs' 24-yard pass to Green set up a 23-yard field goal by Mark Mariscal to end the half.
