RECAP | BOX SCORE

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) _ Tavares Bolden passed for 135 yards and a touchdown and ran for 87 yards and a score as Toledo overcame a 14-point deficit to beat winless Navy 35-14 on Saturday.

Chester Taylor had 112 yards rushing and two touchdowns for Toledo (7-1), which scored 35 straight points after Navy produced touchdowns on its first two possessions.

Navy (0-8) led 14-13 at halftime but withered under a 22-point third quarter by the Rockets, who have won four straight by a combined 160-28 score.

It was the sixth 100-yard rushing game of the season for Taylor, who carried 21 times. Bolden completed 17 of 28 passes, including a 19-yarder for a TD to Donta Greene.

The Rockets opened the second half by recovering Navy's second onside kick of the game. Toledo then moved 45 yards in 11 plays, taking its first lead on a 5-yard TD run on third down by Bolden, who also ran in the 2-point conversion.

Navy's next series ended with a 20-yard punt into the wind, and Bolden capped the three-play drive by hitting a wide open Greene in the end zone. After Bolden began the Rockets' next possession with a 27-yard run, Taylor scored two plays later on an 18-yard run for a 35-14 lead.

That doomed the Midshipmen to their first 0-8 start since 1991. Navy last went winless in 1948.

Navy opened the game by stacking three players wide to one side, a surprising maneuver that spread out the befuddled Toledo defense. The Midshipmen moved 80 yards on 11 rushing plays after the opening kickoff, the final run a 5-yard touchdown by Josh Bock.

Navy then executed a successful onside kick and proceeded to move 46 yards, going up 14-0 on a 1-yard run by backup quarterback Ed Malinowski.

It was Navy's largest lead of the year. But the Midshipmen, who amassed 126 yards on their first two possessions, managed only 29 yards in the second and third quarters.

Toledo ran its first offensive play with 5:23 left in the first quarter and promptly made up for lost time, covering 71 yards and closing to 14-7 on a 2-yard run by Taylor.

Toledo's Todd France kicked a 43-yard field goal into the wind early in the second quarter and made it 14-13 with a 37-yarder on the final play of the half.
