James Mungro scored three TDs as Syracuse thumped K-State.

Syracuse had a point to prove heading into the Insight.com Bowl. The Orangemen felt they deserved to be in a New Year's Day bowl. And they certainly didn't think they should be underdogs going into the game. So Syracuse took it out on Kansas State and dominated the Wildcats in every phase of the game en route to a 26-3 victory. The win gave Syracuse 10 wins for just the fifth time in school history.

"This just shows how underrated the Big East is. Syracuse thumped one of the better teams from the so-called best conference in the nation. Wake up, everyone. The Big East is the best."

IT WAS OVER WHEN
Syracuse RB James Mungro scampered 65 yards in the first quarter and with the Orangemen defense playing like the '85 Bears, this was never in doubt again.
GAME BALL GOES TO
This is a tough one. James Mungro had a huge night with three TDs, but we go with Clifton Smith, who had 14 tackles and was seemingly all over the field.
