Oberlin snaps longest losing skid in football

Associated Press

OBERLIN, Ohio -- Oberlin snapped its 44-game losing streak -- the longest slide in college football -- getting three touchdowns from Scott Barker in a 55-22 victory Saturday over Kenyon.

The Yeomen (1-5, 1-3 North Coast Conference) had been winless since beating Thiel 18-17 in 1997. Before that, Oberlin, which plays in NCAA Division III, had lost 40 in a row after beating Kenyon in 1992.

Barker scored on a 24-yard pass from Ryan Squatrito and on a return of blocked punt in the first quarter. Barker added a 22-yard TD run in the third period.

Travis Oman rushed for 215 yards and Squatrito 71 for Oberlin.

Tony Miga passed for 192 yards and ran for 78 for Kenyon (0-6, 0-4).
