Best DB in college football to be named Dec. 6

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Quentin Jammer of Texas, Edward Reed of Miami and Roy Williams of Oklahoma have been named finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, which goes to the best defensive back in college football.

Jammer has two interceptions and 22 passes broken up. He has been in on 46 tackles, including three for losses.

Reed has seven interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. He also has eight passes broken up and two fumble recoveries.

Williams has 92 tackles, five interceptions, 20 passes broken up and two fumble recoveries.

The winner will be announced Dec. 6 at an awards show in Orlando, Fla.
