PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Tasha Pointer recorded her
second triple-double of the season with 10 points, 10 rebounds
and 10 assists, leading 10th-ranked Rutgers to a 74-50 Big East
Conference rout of West Virginia. A week ago, Pointer had the first triple-double in school history, a feat that helped her earn Big East Player of the Week honors. On Saturday, she collected 10 points and a career-high 15 assists in a 75-66 overtime triumph over Boston College. Tammy Sutton-Brown added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Scarlet Knights (11-4, 4-1 Big East), who extended their winning streak against the Mountaineers to five games and lead the all-time series, 31-6. Rutgers also got 11 points from Davalyn Cunningham and 10 from Linda Miles while shooting 42 percent (30-of-72) from the field. Pointer and Sutton-Brown helped the Scarlet Knights to a lopsided 45-29 rebounding edge. Alia Clark had 15 points and six rebounds but committed eight of West Virginia's 28 turnovers. Kate Bulger and Darya Kudryavtseva each added 10 points for the Mountaineers (4-12, 2-3), who have lost three straight and eight of their last nine games.
