RECAP | BOX SCORE

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Shameka Christon scored 21 points and Arkansas ambushed No. 21 Mississippi State, 72-45, for its second straight Southeastern Conference victory.

Wendi Willits and Dana Cherry scored 17 points each and Amy Wright had 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Lady Razorbacks, who limited the Lady Bulldogs to their lowest output of the season.

Arkansas shot 45 percent (29-of-65) from the field while holding Mississippi State to 32 percent (17-of-53). The Lady Razorbacks held a 47-29 advantage in rebounds.

Arkansas (11-6, 2-3 SEC) had lost its first three SEC games by a combined 39 points before beating Kentucky by 19 points Sunday.

LaToya Thomas scored 20 points for Mississippi State (10-6, 1-4), which has struggled since entering conference play. Its only win came against intrastate rival Mississippi.

"Hopefully we can grow from this," MSU coach Sharon Fanning said. "You have to give them credit, they were more intense than us. We need to put this one behind us and get back home and get to work."

Lady Bulldogs star Jennifer Fambrough was held to seven points on 1-of-9 shooting, ending a streak of 12 double-figure games.
