Tigers build big lead in second half

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- Marie Ferdinand scored 19 points and LSU (No. 11 ESPN/USA Today, No. 12 AP) shot 70 percent from the field in the first half in a 72-60 win over Mississippi on Sunday.

April Brown had 12 points and Ke-Ke Tardy added 11 for LSU (13-5, 4-2 Southeastern Conference). The Tigers shot 14-of-20 in the first half and forced Mississippi (13-4, 1-3) into bad shots the entire game.

The Rebels attempted 33 3-pointers, making just nine of them. Von Kirk was 4-for-12 on 3-pointers and scored 16 points, and Kayla Madewell added 10 points for Ole Miss.

Kisha James hit two 3-pointers at the start of the second half as LSU took a 17-point lead. Madewell hit a pair of 3-pointers as Mississippi got within 57-50 with 6:12 left.

Tywanna Inmon had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Ole Miss. Kisha James and Angelia Crockett scored 10 points each for the Tigers.
