WACO, Texas (Ticker) -- Danielle Cockrum scored 31 points and
pulled down 20 rebounds as Baylor throttled No. 18 Texas, 73-51,
in Big 12 Conference action. Cockrum, who entered the game as the seventh-leading scorer in the nation, had over 30 points and 20 rebounds in a game for the third time this season. The junior made 9-of-17 shots along with 13-of-15 free throws as the Lady Bears (15-3, 4-3 Big 12) jumped out to a 20-2 lead and never looked back. Jessica Stratton scored 15 points off the bench as Baylor defeated Texas for just the third time since the inception of the Big 12 Conference in 1996. Baylor shot just 33 percent but made 32-of-46 (70 percent) free throws as three Lady Longhorns fouled out. Tracy Cook led Texas (15-6, 3-4) with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jo Ruth Woods added nine points as the Lady Longhorns shot only 25 percent (15-of-61) and committed 33 fouls. Texas lost its fourth straight road game and fourth in its last six outings overall. Baylor led, 38-19, at halftime and never let the Lady Longhorns creep any closer than 16 points in the final 20 minutes.
