Moody, Gardner and Lewis come up big

RECAP | BOX SCORE

RALEIGH, N.C. (Ticker) -- Carisse Moody scored 29 points, Ivy Gardner added 21 and senior guard Tynesha Lewis posted the first triple-double in school history as No. 22 North Carolina State snapped a four-game losing streak with a convincing 85-66 victory over ACC rival Florida State.

Having lost their previous four contests by seven points or less, the Wolfpack (12-8, 3-6 ACC) were in dire need of a breakout performance and got it from Moody, Gardner and Lewis.

Lewis, a senior who started at the point guard slot for the Pack, posted the first triple-double in school history with 10 points, 10 assists and 12 rebounds to become the first Wolfpack, male or female, to achieve the milestone.

"To get a triple-double in a system like ours really is a great honor for any player," N.C. State coach Kay Yow said.

Moody knocked down 13 of 15 shots and Moody was 8-for-10 from the floor as the tandem led North Carolina State to a sparkling 60 percent (35-for-68) shooting performance.

The Wolfpack hit 18 of 29 shots after intermission, outscoring the Seminoles (12-7, 4-5), 48-33, over the final 20 minutes.

Brooke Wyckoff scored 23 points for Florida State, which has lost four of five since a surprising 11-3 start.

The Seminoles shot 41 percent (25-for-61) and lost the battle on the boards, 42-25.
