CINCINNATI (AP) -- Jennifer Phillips scored a career-high 29
points and Taru Tuukkanen had 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead Xavier (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today; No. 15 Associated Press) to a 75-72 victory over Florida State on Thursday night.

took a 37-35 lead, then sank a pair of free throws with 16 seconds
to play to seal the victory.
Levys Torres had 24 points and 13 rebounds for Florida State
(12-8). April Traylor added 20 points and Brooke Wyckoff 13.
There were 12 lead changes and nine ties in the game. Xavier led
by as much as six in the first half, then had to rally from an
eight-point deficit after Florida State put together a 19-9 run
capped by a Torres layup with 12:32 to go.
Xavier made an 18-10 run to take the lead for good with 4:29
left. Tuukkanen scored 12 points in that six-minute span, starting
with a basket and ending with a pair of free throws.
Amy Waugh, last season's Atlantic 10 rookie of the year, made
her first appearance of the season after missing Xavier's first 19
games while rehabbing a ruptured Achilles' tendon. She played 18
minutes, was 1-for-3 for three points and had three assists.
