The junior guard shot 8-of-17 from the field. Center Vanessa Hayden added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Gators (22-4, 10-3 SEC), who had lost two of their last three before defeating the Tigers (17-9, 7-6). Guard Monique Cardenas also added 14 points for Florida.

McCain scored 13 of her points in the first half, including a 3-pointer to give Florida its halftime margin of 31-22. The nine-point lead was the largest of the half for the Gators.

While McCain was hot from the field, the Tigers struggled, especially in the first half as they shot 9-for-31 (29 percent), including 1-for-8 from behind the 3-point line. LSU shot only 33.3 percent for the game.

Forward DeTrina White had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Tigers, while April Brown and Marie Ferdinand added 13 apiece.

Among those missing the game for Florida was starting guard Tombi Bell, who has a concussion.
