Overview
The Lady Techsters have quietly worked their way into position to contend once again for the national championship. Leon Barmore's quick flirtation with retirement -- as well as the fact the Lady Techsters graduated two starters to the WNBA, lost another to injury and don't have a single senior on their roster -- did not derail the Tech juggernaut as it railroaded its Sun Belt competition. The Lady Techsters had an unblemished conference record, capped with a win over Denver in the conference tournament final. Tech led the league in scoring, rebounding and gave up the fewest points, just 57 per night. Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year Ayana Walker and Freshman of the Year Amber Obaze lead the dangerous Techsters into the NCAA Tournament.

Player to Watch
Junior Ayana Walker, a 6-foot-2 junior, leads Tech with 16.5 points per game. She ranks second in rebounding (8.3 rpg) and shoots 48.1 percent from the field.
