ARLINGTON, Texas -- Mike Dean, the only coach to lead the Texas-Arlington women's basketball to a postseason tournament, has resigned.
Dean's resignation is effective Oct. 1.
Dean had a 115-105 record in eight seasons, leading the Lady
Mavericks to the Woman's National Invitation Tournament in 1999. He
had five winning seasons and is 115 wins is two short of the
school-best 117 by Connie Kelch from 1979-89.
Athletics director Pete Carlon hopes to have a new coach in place
by time Texas-Arlington is scheduled to start preseason drills Oct.
