Craig will be eligible to play on Dec. 19, 2002

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES -- Rometra Craig, a key reserve for Duke as a freshman last season, has transferred to Southern California.

As a transfer from a four-year school, Craig must sit out one year and will be eligible to play for the Trojans on Dec, 19, 2002 as a redshirt sophomore with two years of eligibility remaining.

The 5-foot-10 Craig averaged 7.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals in 18.7 minutes per game last season at Duke, which reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament after being ranked fifth in the final Associated Press poll.

Craig, the daughter of former San Francisco 49ers running back Roger Craig, graduated from Archbishop Mitty High in Portola Valley, Calif., in 2000. She averaged 23.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 2.3 assists in her senior year.

Roger Craig played for the 49ers from 1983-90 before playing one season with the Raiders and two with the Vikings.
