OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton removed the interim tag from women's basketball coach Jim Flanery's title Friday.

Flanery, a 10-year assistant with the Bluejays, had served as interim coach for the last month, when coach Connie Yori resigned to take over at Nebraska.

The 37-year-old Flanery played for the Bluejays from 1985-87. He took an assistant's job with the women's team in 1987 and was also an assistant at Loras College from 1990-92 before returning to Creighton.
