Herbek scored 16 points for Hastings

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Elizabeth Herbek scored 16 points to lead Hastings to a 59-53 victory over Dakota Wesleyan to win the NAIA Division II women's basketball championship.

Hastings also led at the end of the first half with a 32-24 score.

Jami Lipker scored another 13 points for Hastings and Carrie Hofstetter added 12 points and five assists. Stephanie Shaw was the top rebounder for Hastings with nine rebounds.

Hastings finishes the season with a 33-5 record.

Dakota Wesleyan was led by Victoria Drefs, Randi Morgan and Taccy Faulhaber, who each scored 12 points. Abbey DeWolf scored another 10 points.

Morgan was Dakota Wesleyan's top rebounder with 12 rebounds.

Dakota Wesleyan ends the season with a 25-13 record.
