ESPN.com wants to give you a quick look inside the lives of the players we cover. Every Tuesday throughout the season, we'll feature a new student-athlete who has taken the time to answer our 20 Questions.
Tamika Catchings, Tennessee
| | | Catchings | Vitals: 6-1 senior forward
2000-2001 stats: Before suffering a torn ACL in her right knee Monday, Catchings was leading the Lady Vols in scoring (15.2 ppg) and rebounding (8.8 rpg) through 17 games. She was shooting 47.4 percent (93-for-195) from the field and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line (50-for-62), dishing out 2.9 assists and making 1.8 steals per game. She had seven double-doubles this season.
Career stats: With a 24-point performance against Arizona State on Dec. 27, the three-time Kodak All-American and reigning National Player of the Year became just the third Lady Vol to score 2,000 points, joining Chamique Holdsclaw and Bridgette Gordon. Her 17 points Monday left her with 2,113 career points. Catchings also is just the second player in Tennessee history -- along with Holdsclaw -- to have more than 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Her 13 rebounds Monday pushed her career total to 1,004. Through Monday's game, Catchings had tallied 31 steals this season, and is just 28 shy of Gordon's career steals record of 338.
