The man who ran onto the Yankee Stadium field to confront Alex Rodriguez during Game 3 of the American League Championship Series was scheduled be arraigned at his bedside at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx on Thursday, but that has been delayed because he has not been fingerprinted by the police yet, according to the Bronx District Attorney's office.
A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department said the fingerprinting has not taken place yet because the fan, Grim LeRogue, is still under psychiatric evaluation.
LeRogue was charged with assault and interfering with a sporting event. A judge will appear via video conference with the prosecutor and LeRogue's representation at his bedside for the arraignment.
LeRogue, 33, allegedly carried five pictures with him when he ran onto the field in the top of the fifth inning, including one of Rodriguez with an X through his face and a gun to his head, according to a report in Wednesday's New York Post.
According to the report, LeRogue also had a picture of actress Cameron Diaz, who is rumored to be dating Rodriguez. The picture said "We will be together soon," police sources told the New York Post.
LeRogue was tackled by stadium security shortly after he jumped out of the stands. He was handcuffed and escorted off the field before he could get near the players.
