Howard Johnson, son to play in minors

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Former New York Mets slugger Howard Johnson and his son, Glen, will play together in a pair of minor league baseball games.

The Rockland Boulders of the independent Can-Am League signed the pair for a homestand Sunday and Monday against the Newark Bears.

Boulders president Ken Lehner said on the team website that while "HoJo will always be synonymous with the Mets," playing professional baseball together will be "a dream come true for the Johnson family."

Howard won a World Series title with New York in 1986 and led the NL with 38 homers for the Mets in 1991.

Glen was drafted in 2007 by the Mets.
