Gerald Wallace out vs. Pacers

Brooklyn Nets small forward Gerald Wallace will not play on Friday night against the Indiana Pacers because of a lower left leg contusion, the team announced.

Wallace suffered the injury early in the second quarter of Brooklyn's victory in Boston on Wednesday night. He was carried off the court and into the locker room by teammates Brook Lopez and Reggie Evans and did not return.

Wallace is a versatile defender who provides the Nets with veteran leadership but has admittedly lost all confidence in his jump shot. In his past 17 games, Wallace is averaging just 5.8 points on 32.4 percent shooting. Over that span, he is just 3-of-35 from 3-point range. In his last three games, Wallace has just one field goal -- a put-back dunk.

Keith Bogans, who was a game-time decision (back), started in Wallace's place.

The team also announced that forward Kris Joseph has been signed for the remainder of the season. Joseph had been signed to a 10-day contract off Brooklyn's D-League affiliate, the Springfield Armor, on April 2. Joseph has appeared in three games with the Nets, averaging 3.3 minutes per game.
