The Detroit Lions reached a four-year agreement Sunday with former Redskins defensive tackle Dan "Big Daddy" Wilkinson. Terms of the deal weren't known. Wilkinson, 30, was cut by the Washington Redskins because he refused to take a paycut from $3.5 million to $2 million. He had been talking to the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots and a couple of other teams, but he had focused mostly on the Lions in the past week. The Lions aggressively pursued the 10-year veteran once he was cut by the Redskins. They were looking for insurance at defensive tackle because of starting defensive tackle Luther Elliss' torn pectoral muscle. Wilkinson's signing should start a ripple effect of movement among defensive tackles. The Packers are likely to sign former Jaguars defensive tackle Larry Smith. The Redskins, who may have lost defensive tackle Brandon Noble for the season because of a knee injury, will talk with the Broncos about defensive tackle Lional Dalton, who was told last week that he would be traded.
