Safety Robert Sands to enter draft

West Virginia junior safety Robert Sands said Saturday he will enter the NFL draft.

Sands, who is 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, can play free or strong safety.

"This is a great opportunity for me," Sands said. "I can cover receivers or tight ends. I consider myself a ballhawk."

Sands, who is from southern Florida, said he tries to model his game after Kenny Phillips, Ed Reed and Sean Taylor.
