LANDOVER, Md. -- Washington Redskins running back Stephen Davis the second-leading rusher in the NFC, was placed on the inactive list for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Davis sustained a hairline fracture in his right forearm during
last week's game at St. Louis. He did not practice this week, but
he had been listed as probable and said he hoped to play with a
cast.
However, 90 minutes before kickoff, coach Norv Turner decided
Davis would not be able to play and placed him on the inactive
list.
Davis has rushed for 1,073 yards on 261 carries this season.
Skip Hicks and Adrian Murrell, who had only 30 carries for 95 yards
between them going into the game, were to share the rushing duties
in Davis' absence.
