CHENEY, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks have signed wide
receiver and first-round draft choice Koren Robinson, the team confirmed Friday.
Robinson, a receiver from North Carolina State drafted ninth
overall, signed a six-year, $10.1 million contract, said his agent,
Alvin Keels, of Chesapeake, Va.
The team did not disclose terms.
Keels said the deal includes a $4 million signing bonus and an
option bonus next spring of $2.5 million. He will make $800,000 in
2001 with $591,000 up front; $400,000 in 2002; $450,000 in 2003;
$550,000 in 2004; $600,000 in 2005; and $800,000 in 2006.
Keels said Friday that Robinson signed late Thursday night in
Seattle following a meeting among Keels, Robinson and the Seahawks.
"He's real happy to get it out of the way and get started,"
Keels said. "He's ready to contribute. He said his next goal is to
win Rookie of the Year."
Robinson was not available for comment Friday.
Robinson missed the team's two minicamps this spring while he
nursed a pulled right hamstring.
The Seahawks now have all 12 of their draft picks signed heading
into the first day of training camp Sunday.
Another first-round pick, Steve Hutchinson, a guard from
Michigan selected No. 17, signed with Seattle on Wednesday.
