GREELEY, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos appear to be cornering the market on cornerbacks.

The team signed former Carolina and San Francisco Pro Bowl cornerback Eric Davis. The Denver Post reported his contract as a one-year, $600,000 deal that includes a $100,000 signing bonus.
Davis becomes the fourth cornerback to sign with the Broncos this offseason, joining Denard Walker, Tyrone Poole and Willie Middlebrooks.
Davis played under Broncos defensive coordinator Ray Rhodes at
San Francisco and has played alongside three current Broncos.
He knows the Broncos' defense fairly well and is expected to challenge
Deltha O'Neal for the starting roster spot.
Davis was expected to practice Thursday.
It is doubtful the Broncos will carry all of their cornerbacks on their roster when the regular season begins.
"You can put us all in a bag, shake it up, and there's no telling who would fall out," Poole told The Post.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Davis has intercepted five passes in each of the past five seasons.
In other team news, the Broncos traded linebacker Henri Crockett to the Atlanta Falcons in
return for a conditional 2002 draft choice.
Crockett, an unrestricted free agent, signed with the Broncos in
May after four seasons with the Falcons.
The 6-foot-2, 238-pounder started 46 of his 57 NFL games with
the Falcons and had 191 tackles and 6½ sacks. Hampered by an ankle
injury last season, Crockett started 12 games with 48 tackles and
two sacks.
To make room on the roster for Crockett, the Falcons waived wide
receiver Jammi German, a third round draft pick out of Miami, Fla.,
in 1998. He played in 29 games and caught 13 passes for 229 yards
and three touchdowns.
