KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Indianapolis Colts running back Edgerrin James sprained his left knee late in Thursday night's 35-28 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
He said after the game, however, that "I'll be fine" and that he expected to make a quick return to the Colts' lineup.
James was injured with about 4½ minutes left, when he was tackled for a 1-yard loss by linebacker Marvcus Patton. He was able to walk off the field but did not return.
"I felt some pain. I knew something wasn't right," James said, "but the pain started going away, so I knew it wouldn't be too bad and I was able to walk it off."
James carried 27 times for 102 yards, giving him 24 career 100-yard games, tying Eric Dickerson for the club record.
He said he would undergo an MRI. |
