ST. MARTINVILLE, La. -- Former Dallas Cowboys lineman Nate Newton and the three people arrested with him all have been released on $100,000 bond.

Newton, of East Ellijay, Ga., and the others were released two days after he and two women from Florida were arrested and accused of hauling 213 pounds of marijuana in their van with plans to sell it.

A Texas man, arrested in a pickup truck with $18,000, was booked with conspiracy to possess narcotics.

Their bond originally was set at $200,000 each, but a deputy at the jail said all were released Tuesday on $100,000 bond each.

State police said the van was stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 10 in St. Martin Parish.

Newton, 39, is a six-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman who helped Dallas win three Super Bowls. He spent 14 seasons in the NFL, 13 with Dallas. He retired last year after a season with Carolina.

He worked last year as a commentator on ESPN radio and more recently was an analyst for some BET television college football broadcasts.

Faye M. Cleveland, 46, and Marva Johnson Waye, 49, both of Jacksonville, Fla., were in the van with Newton. Ricky Glenn Williams, 46, of Quinlan, Texas, was in the truck, state police said.
