HOUSTON -- Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Brent Smith's comeback from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that sidelined him for the 2001 season ended Saturday night when he sustained the same injury in his right knee during a preseason victory over the Houston Texans. Smith went down during a first-half play and was helped off the field. Coach Dave Wannstedt said Smith would undergo an MRI on Sunday morning to determine if there was additional damage. ``I just feel terrible for Brent Smith,'' Wannstedt said. ``He's worked so hard. He was looking for an opportunity, but we're just fortunate we've got some depth there.'' Smith, in his sixth season, suffered his initial ACL injury July 27, 2001, during a training camp practice. The fourth of four third-round selections by the Dolphins in the 1997 draft, Smith started 13 of 40 career games from 1998 to 2000, and made two playoff starts in 1998. | ||
